Hi!! I'm 13 years old and in 7th grade and I am yearning for a horse!! My parents think that I'm responsible, just not responsible enough for such a big responsibility. I have been taking lessons for nine years and I really want my own horse!! Money isn't a problem, and neither is a place to keep the horse. (I live on a farm) I take care of my chickens, dogs, and rabbits. I also get good grades in school, keep my room clean, clean the kitchen, do yard work, and volonteer to muck out, and feed the horses at the barn I ride at. My parents still don't think I'm responsible...they're really big perfectionists...I want to start doing something that wil REALLY REALLY impress them and show them I'm responsible. Any ideas? Thank you!! I will choose a best answer!!

Sorry, but how do you know that money is not an issue? Just because you live on a farm doesn't mean your parents are rich. Horses are expensive and cost a fortune to keep healthy, and tack is not cheap, even inferior tack costs money and will need to be replaced on a regular basis.
Perhaps you should talk to your parents about this, suggest that you could get rid of your pets, and stop having riding lessons so you could save that money to pay for a horse and its upkeep. Personally, I don;t believe your parents can afford to buy you a horse- your not being responsible enough is just a nice excuse to say no rather than tell you the truth.
When you are older, you can get a part time job after school and save up to buy your own horse.
Keep grades up stay away from boys, dont backtalk, meaning no lip. Do chores on a daily basis. Sign up for a activity at school. Find a new hobby. Learn how to cook dinner. Fix your hair diffrent be u.be respectful of them
i dont kno how u talk to your parents but if you are talking to them with a attitude or being rude or argumenative in any way to your parents its not good, just make sure if u dissagree with them on something just stay calm and respectul.. i dont kno, u might be a sweatheart... also u can try to do extra stuff to earn money to buy you one on your own.. and if that dont work. dont panic, u kno your parents better than anyone.. be creative
