just ignore the fact that he's narcissistic... i've had one of those, she was insanely obsessed with herself. to the point that she didn't date men because she felt they didn't see her as the "most beautiful" woman alive. so i got on her good side by telling her (on a daily basis) that i wished i looked like her... even though she looked really goofy to me. but i'd compliment her hair, her eyes, her nose, her teeth... everything. then she'd smile and say, "you think so?" and just giggle. then i'd get back to my work. but i thought it was more entertaining than anything. now that i look at it, i'd rather have a narcissistic boss than a normal, boring boss. maybe just try sucking up to him/her and laughing about it later.
