In my state (Pennsylvania) standardized tests don't count towards math placement unless you do bad. What you need to do is just get straight A's in math. Don't worry too much about advanced math. In my school district, i know kids who were Average in math who beat out kids 2 years ahead on the math SAT's. If college is your reason for this then they would prefer you if you were in average level and passing then advanced level and failing. If you can do Algebra and pass then by all means do it.
