you will have to take classes in dental hygiene.. most are done at tech colleges.
The classes are very small & can take a longtime to get into one.
In the meantime..study as much as you can about.dental information..ask the dentist & hygienists as many questions you can & more detailed information
If you can get into a Dental Radiology & Expanded Dental Functions class somewhere, you will be one step ahead and some colleges will take that into consideration on accepting you. Most states & colleges require one year in a practice also.
You can also buy the books at many of the college book stores & study them before you take any classes
try to find a large dental clinic in your area...working there will help you out & some will even help pay for part of your education & hire you after with a contract to work for them for a period of time.
you can also check out any Military base...you don't have to be in the military to work as an assistant or hygienist.they may have some openings & be willing to do on the job training..helping you get some experience in the dental field
Feel free to contact me if you have anymore questions..you can add me to yahoo chat <[email protected]> if you'd like to
