I am not trying to be offensive or anything but i am just curious. i admit i have not met that many other Erica's in my life (i'm 23) in all my years of school and life in 2 states (CA / FL) i've met maybe 20 and besides 1 latina they have all been black. i am just wondering if this is a fluke or what. would you assume i am black if you just saw my name on an application or heard someone say it?

I'm italian and in Italy many girls are "Erica"! I think it's a very nice name!
Erica Black
No, its just your experience with name made you conclude that its a black girls name.
YOu still havent met the white Erica's yet!
But again assuming Erica is a black name based only on the people you met is not sufficient to categorize the name.
Its like saying are all Isabella's Italians or are all Layla's middle easterns and so on.
Names are more or less getting international.
happy to answer ^_^
No. I know a few African American girls with the name Erica but I know other Erica. I even know a girl who's name is "Erica" spelled as Arica.
Every Erica I've ever met was white. However, that's about the only race in my small town.
:)
No "Erica" is not a black name. I know about four black girls with that name and plenty of white girls with that name.
lol my goodness no!
i know a lot of ericas...and not one of them are black...actually they are all white.
Erica Cane - all my children
and i went to school with three ericas -all white (one with red hair, one brunette*dyed blonde*, and a natural blonde*
Its a great name on any one regardless of race and i absolutely wouldnt assume it to be a 'black' name??
