Is my dad a alchohlic?
So my dad quit drinking about 6 years ago. He had to stop because he got pancreatitis and almost died. He had to change his hole diet and lost 60 pounds. Well this past year and a half has been hard for him. He lost his job and my step mom left him. And she left as soon as she graduated from nursing school (he paid for her to go). Well he started drinking about 6-7 months ago. And at first it wasn t bad like he had a beer here and there. But the last 2-3 months he s been coming home drunk every night.. He thinks I dont know lol. But I m 19. And its just me and him in this house.. i came home yesterday and he was drunk at 2 in the afternoon. And I notice that he poors it in plastic cups so that means he mixing it with vodka or whatever

sounds like it, maybe you should move out if you dont want to live with an alcoholic
Maybe you can talk to him and see if he will express what is bothering him, instead of trying to drink to forget about his feelings. If not advise him to go seek help, so that he can stop drinking. He may not want to speak to you, as he may feel bad or ashamed that you have realized that he has been drinking frequently, so tell him that you are worried about him and that you love him and would appreciate that he seeks help, because even though your step mom is gone, you are still there and you need him and love him. Hopefully he will understand where you are coming from, if he thinks about what you said, and he will get help.
There isn't anyone that can state if he is an alcoholic or not, they can state that he may have some of the signs or whatever.
You can do nothing more but sit down with him and tell him your concerns, he will do with that info what he wishes to.
You two need a serious talk about whats happening.
No doubt about it.
