Processed foods contain huge amounts of SODIUM! Not good for us. Natural foods are easier on our digestive systems and provide more nutrients for our bodies.
In terms of "better," I'd go natural. Now, "natural" just means someone hasn't done anything to it ahead of time (cooked, pealed, boiled, etc.). Some say "organic" which is a particularl way of growing without pesticides, etc., is better.
For my money, I like "natural " foods. For me, it doesn't take me much longer to "prepare" these things, and, I find it's a lot cheaper. Ex. 2 ears of corn (50 cents to 75, depending on region). Can of corn, 89 cents. May not seem like a lot, but for things like mixed vegetables or pre-cut and pre-cooked chicken (a whole fryer is about 5 bucks and you can cut it up yourself), it really adds up.

I prefer natural foods, fruit, vegetables, grains, because they are healthier and retain most of their vitamins without additives.
I can't say which is better because I believe it's personal preference and people don't always have time to prepare their own food from scratch.
I have no idea what other people do. It's none of my business.
