Walk walk walk!
Drink LOTS of water. Make sure you are getting at least 64 oz a day!
Apple juice.
Eat more fiber in your diet.
The Activia yogurts, I have one with breakfast every morning and then one as a snack at night and within 4/5 days they help SO much!
Good luck with the rest of your pregnancy, congrats on the baby and I wish you a safe and healthy delivery!
It's the prenatal vitamins. You need to start drinking more water eating more fiber, the old adage "an apple a day" is true. You might also try prune juice, I know it sounds awful but it will help and honestly it's a lot better than an enema. You could also try an enema, but speak with your doctor first. Your stomach is hurting from the build-up of intestinal gases and of course from the bulk of the unexcreted feces. You really need to get this taken care of as soon as possible or you may end up getting impacted. If that happens you will need a physician to literally go into your rectum and dig the feces out. This happened to my girlfriend with her first pregnancy, she was absolutely miserable but more so she was mortified when the doctor had to dig it out of her. Good luck to you.
its constipation and the result of not drinking enough water or any fluids .
more and more water is taken out of the poo basically as it stays in the colon over a few days and as a result this is what happens.
try an enema thats safe for being pregnant to start you off and then more fluids and high fibre cereals (fibre is a part of a food that is NOT digested but acts as a bulking agent to sweep other digested foods together).
pregnancy can definately affect our toilet habits and does iron tablets.
it wont take much to correct itself, just drink alot more water. :)x
Buy some fiber and mix it with juice a few times a day. Also, make sure you are drinking enough water. Lack of water during pregnancy causes constipation. So drink, drink, drink. Also, a lot of women get constipated from the iron in their prenatal vitamins. My friend had horrible constipation during her pregnancy until she switched to a vitamin without iron. Talk to your obgyn though before you switch.
do you take prenatal vitamins? that would be why if you do- they have alot of extra iron which hardens your poo. try taking Colace - a stool sftener that is ok for preggos to take- i had the same problems sometimes. good luck to you. if you dont want to take any meds you can ask your doc some natural wys to soften poo
the other advice given here is great- colace or a fiber supplement, walking, drinking a lot of water, etc. Once you get yourself regular, eat cereal each day, and drink a glass of apple juice. I swear by it! It has kept me regular throughout my pregnancy!
I am having the same problems at 16 weeks. I dont have the answer but thanks for asking the question. My doc has told me to just drink more water but that is not doing the trick.
If you are taking baby vitamins, its probably the extra iron you are getting in your diet..have you tried straight apple juice or prune juice? the apple juice helped me immensly when I was
pregnant...I hope you feel better ~:o)
buy colace caplets they work really well i had the same trouble
