Okay I am 18 and will be graduating from high school in 2 days. I already have everything bought dress, shoes, everything. My senior Prom was about 2-3 weeks ago and I wasn't able to go. Just recently my school posted up the photos for the prom and while I was looking at them I didn't notice this before another girl in my senior class that went to the prom wore my same exact gold dress, with the gold shall, and ruffles. Basically she wore the same exact dress I was going to wear to my graduation instead. What do I do? There is no more leftover money to buy a new dress. I already bought my shoes to go with the dress and everything. I don't want to be seen in the same dress that girl wore at her prom to my graduation. Again we are in the same exact senior class and will be graduating together in 2 days. I bought my dress since early March and now its to late to take it back.
Update:This has been nothing but a nightmare this whole week. First I got really sick, now someone wore MY DRESS!
What would you guys do in my situation?

I would probably return it and get my money back or store credit and buy a new dress. but if you can't do that, if it's a long dress, maybe you could take it to a tailor and make it shorter or ask him/her to change it a bit for you.
Do you even know the girl who had the same dress? If not, then dont worry about anything... just hold your head high and act like nothing happened. If you do know her, try changin little things, like the shoes you wear, or your earings, or do your hair in a way that is soo amazing people wont notice that you have the same dress as someone else. Besides, it is a different function. The people at that Prom probably wont even remember that girls dress.
Nothing, just wear the dress lady, how your 'special day' a 'disaster' if you are wearing a piece of cloth. Don't care about what you are wearing care about what the day represents. This is the problem with American youth, to brand such idiotic 'dilemmas' as 'disasters'. Go see the real disasters and suffering across the world then talk about this being a disaster.
Superficiality is a killer lady, who cares if some bimbo is wearing the same dress as you. People are going to talk and your reputation will be tarnished? Ha! Nobody will probably even notice.
You can't do anything so just wear it, who cares what all the other answerers say because in the end, nothing will come out of this post.
Makks
Wear the dress. Walk tall, be proud and confident. Let yourself glow in the dress, especially if you loved the dress when you first got it. In the long run it doesn't really matter. It will look different on you because you are not her. Who knows -every one might comment on how it looks so much better on you! (Can you do something with the skirt or remove the sleeves or a small alteration? or try a different shawl or cover. like a small bolero jacket or could you turn the shawl into a shrug?)
okay ..first off calm down
do you have any other dresses (an old prom dress, homecoming dress, mom's old dress) that you could wear
if that answer is no, then do you have any money at all? if you do, then go to plato's closet (or a retail store that sells previously owned clothes) and buy a whole new outfit there (it will pry be less than 100 with shoes and accessories)
congratulations on graduation and good luck
so someone else wore your dress!! does it really matter? I mean come on its not like anyone else at schools is going to care enough to actually be like"omg you guys wore the same dress, wow, thats really lame" you will be fine in the dress you have just stop stressing, probablly no one will even remember seeing that dress. and in the long run is it really going to be important that at your highschool graduation you wore the same dress as some other girl wore to prom??
Okay I dont even see what the problem is? And just to tell you you are a senior so you only have to deal with these people until the last day of school. So even if this girl said anything say "who cares", because you most likely arent going to the same college and wont see most people in your grade for awhile!
>> For Christians, it is good Friday. Not all Christians -- mostly only Catholics (and those Protestant denominations whom don't exactly "protest" the practices of the Catholic church very well). Today does have special meaning for me, though (as does every Friday), for today is the Bible preparation day for the Bible Sabbath (which begins at sundown this evening). As for the day Christ was Crucified, this still isn't it. The timing of God's Calendar is that the Day of Passover (on which Jesus was Crucified) is the 14th day of the first month of each new year. Each year begins with the new cycle of the sun (what is referred to today as the spring equinox). Each month begins with the new cycle of the moon (which is referred to today as the observable new moon -- as opposed to the astronomical new moon). Since, from Creation, God provided the sun, moon, and stars as signs for His Feasts (Gen 1:14), then we must observe the sign *before* the event. Thus, the Day of Passover is the 14th day *after* the first new moon which occurs on or *after* the spring equinox. God bless. EDIT: Creation: >> ...we should have celebrated it Wednesday.Friday night >> to Sunday morning is not 3 days and 3 nights. You err in your understanding. Jesus never said He would be in the grave for 3 days and 3 nights. That phrase is only used ONE time (figuratively being "in the heart of the earth"; Mat. 12:40): compared to the phrase "the third day" -- which is used at least 14 times in reference to His literal Resurrection. Also: ● The Bible explicitly states He was Crucified on the "preparation day" (Mat. 27:62; Mar. 15:42; Luke 23:54; John 19:31) which the Jews *never* use this phrase for *any* day except Friday -- the day before the weekly Sabbath (Saturday). ● Even if you don't accept that "preparation day" only applies to Friday, the Bible also states that the next day was a "high sabbath" (John 19:31). This phrase refers to the fact that the weekly sabbath coincided with an annual sabbath that year. From Leviticus 23, we know that the day after Passover is just such an annual sabbath (the first day of the Feast of Unleavened Bread). If, as you say, He had been crucified on Wednesday, then Thursday would have been the first day of the Feast of Unleavened Bread and neither Thursday nor Saturday would have been a "high sabbath." God bless.
I would wear the dress. I doubt that she will wear that same dress to graduation, so there's nothing to worry about.
1st slap that girl. Only joking. Add some accessories to it to make it look different. Also, dont take any notice of Makks comment as he/she was probably bullied in school for that bad attitude and could only relate to you if you were an Emo
