On the standard HO3, the cost to break through your basement floor or wall to get to the pipe is covered.
The cost to break through your patio or driveway, outside the house, to get to pipe, is NOT covered.
The damage to the pipe isn't covered, but that's the cheap part. The digging is the expensive part.
So. Getting to pipe outside the house, isn't going to be covered at all. Sorry.
Get and read your policy. That's #1 and a big one. You want to make sure you are informed and know the "right" questions to ask.
Insurance covers things that are accidental, unexpected... etc. Policies GIVE coverage and TAKE coverage. It can be limited or supplemented.
So - your issue might have to be one that is either a covered peril or covered damage. The CAUSE may make or break whether you have coverage.
So - read your policy and then call your insurance AGENT first. (NOT the insurance company!!)
Call your insurance company if you want to know the answer. They are the only ones that can give you an accurate answer.
Give the insurance company a call. They'll know for sure.
tricky aspect. lookup from a search engine. just that can assist!
