It certainly is possible to switch across the damon braces, but not all orthodontists will do them, so you'd possibly have to go and see someone else... My eldest son (the poor thing is only 10) was set to have major jaw problems, so the orthodontist wanted to get started early to prevent big issues, and he had to get normal braces on about 5 months ago, mainly to just hold the jaw from moving into some weird position. That episode is over now, and because he's young the orthodontist doesn't want to get start expanding or anything in case it effects future growth, so he's just been moved across to damons, which will make his teeth perfect without the need for any major changes... So they might be a good option for you to consider.
Have a chat to your orthodontist and your parents (I assume) and see what they think...
