What does this mean? And please, add as much information as you like. Thanks.
Update:SEAN: I just came across an ad where someone's looking for a photographer assistant and for someone who can "scan all the rolls of film and put them into contact sheet". I'm interested in photography and am very patient which is something this person needs. Of course I know next to nothing about it; I just like to do these little gigs whenever possible. Go ahead and email if you need to. Will be back at computer 11:30 am Tuesday morning. Thanks!

A contact sheet is just a sheet that has small photos on it. In the days of film, negative strips would be exposed onto a sheet of photo paper, it just made it easier to see/show what was on the negatives instead of having to make individual prints.
In the digital world, it is just a sheet with "thumbnails" on it. Again just to make it easier to see what photos are being worked with. Instead of giving a client 46 proof photos, you could give them 2 sheets that have 24 "thumbnails" with names/number on it. That way a client could say " I want 4- 8"x10" prints of #45".
A lot of photo editing programs include a contact sheet option.
You wont really need any photo skills to do this type of work. of course, if you dont know what a contact sheet is, the photographer might not want to hire you.
At least now you know what a contact sheet is.
I think you may need to add detail to your question, since, at least I, don't know what this is regarding exactly...
Edit: Thanks for the update, but the other person got it and I'm absolutely clueless haha...Good luck with the gig!
