Well my hubbys mom bought my daughter a excersaucer type toy for xmas she bought my hubbys brothers kids a play kitchen she bought them all 1 really exspensive gift then all the others were reasonable. Well his mom told me after my daughter is done with the toy she got her for xmas to GIVE it back to her so she can give it to his brother cause there having a baby....It bothers me alot because Its a xmas present to my daughter I should do what I want to do with it not give it back..Doesnt sound like a xmas present just sounds like im borrowing it! Ive already told hubby Im not giving it to them its my daughters not theres...Is this considered a xmas present to her? Sure doesnt seem like it to me! Sorry had to rant! Any insight would be great THANKS!

WHEN the mother told you that, you should have just handed it to her right then and there, followed with you saying "OH, I did not realize you were LOANING it to us - please do not do that anymore."
THAT tells EVERYONE exactly where you stand, and tells them YOU will not let anyone play stupid GAMES with you and your daughter. The Mother is a control freak, and it would be wise of you to show her NOW that her control does not work on you. Doesn't MATTER what she buys or gives to anyone else - that really should not concern you. ONLY concern yourself with what she TRIES to do with YOU.
My MIL is much the same way. She is an arrogant jerk who shows MAJOR favoritism, so when I saw this, I immediately told her NOT to bother trying to play ANY head games with MY kids, or she would have hell to pay. Of course she was furious, but TOO BAD. My kids are better off not even knowing her, than having to be in the middle of her stupid selfish games. Stand up for yourself AND stand up for your kids. THAT is your JOB.
