im shopping for a xmas present for my husbands grandmother. she is very sick and they say she only has a couple of months to live. She is catholic and i was thinking about getting her a cross and have it blessed.
im not religous (i know that sounds bad to some people) but for those of you who are catholic i was wondering if there was a certain type of jewelry that would be good in the situation.
Update:what type of store would i find a place that sales catholic jewelry?

I am a medical social worker with hospice. We often give our patients something called holding crosses. They are made from different types of wood and are made to fit the hand very comfortably. Many times they are made from wood from the holy land. Just an idea. They tend to bring a great deal of comfort to sick and dying people. Here are links to some examples:

Since she is catholic I would recommend getting her instead a nice rosary. Pick one out in her favorite color, something really nice that she will appreciate. If possible, have a priest bless it.
A good idea for the cross would be if you went to a ceramic place, and put her name on it and her favorite quote from the bible
Buy her a pretty Rosary and have a priest bless it.
