I'm not a 2d artist so when I use colored pencils, brand doesn't matter to me much. I do like Crayola's twistables though. They have a good variety of colors (there's twistable crayons too) but they create a very smooth look when you use them. No rough lines like the typical pencil. So if you're not the greatest blender, they work brilliantly.
If you're wanting to use them for 'professional' pictures (like ones to build up an art portfolio or to sell or because you like 'high' quality) then maybe it's better to invest in prismcolors or copic brand of coloring tools. Sometimes having a variety of them to create various textures is good (sometimes the stuff from the dollar store is really good for certain effects)

Any color, but probably black is the one I use the most
