why do idle electronic devices draw so much power?
is that absolutely necessary? Can we sue electronic companies for being unnecessarily wasteful of our electricity? It seems they are defrauding us consumers by not telling us.
unfortunately, although it is not necessary to waste so much energy, there is no way to sue electronic companies for wasting your electricity that i know of, after all it was you choice to buy it, and use it, and continue to use it! and yes if there is a small standby light on a device it is obviously using power =[
they are not realy defrauding anyone, as power ratings are clearly show in device manuals, and it is easy to calculate how much energy a device will use from these if you so wished, but to be honest instead of trying to find a way to sue companies, try looking into getting one of these new extension socket powersavers that automatically the power to your device(s) off when they go into standby or are turned off
totaly genious idea, and will save you a helluva lota money if you leave a lot on standby

will
If you are really worried about it, get a switchable power strip, plug your stuff into it, and then turn it off.
