why do parents do this?
1)say "if you tell me you wont get in trouble" then u tell them and still get in trouble
2)have to meet everybody you talk to and there parents
3)feel like they have to constantly remind you of daily routines... we will do it when we have time
4)have to know where you constantly are
well at least my parents do lol... whyy??

Its just set in their mind that they have to make your life miserable until your 18. But they are parents they have to tell you all of this stuff. its their job. all parents do it. mine do it too.
This is coming from a parent:
1. That phrase really means you won't get in as much trouble as you would if I find out on my own.
2. Good parents want to know who is in their children's life and who their parents are.
3. You have all the time in the world. Besides school and homework there is nothing else you have going on. We wouldn't have to remind out kids if they would just do it without having to be reminded.
4. We are responsible for you and your actions until you are a legal adult. If you say you are going somewhere and don't show up we can take action. Just think if you were kidnapped and your parents didn't care to ever check on you.
You should be thankful that you have parents that are active in your life. It may seem like a hindrance right now but as we parents always say:
"You will understand when you have kids of your own and then you will be thankful for everything we did"
Well for numbers 2 and 4, I can kind of understand. They want you to be safe. I completely understand you in 1 and 3. In 1, its like their using you. And they don't really don't need to remind us 20 times to do routines.
You are their daughter, and they are very protective of you. They want you to succeed in life. They want to be sure that who you talk to isn't dangerous. Like, make sure they don't do drugs or smoke and stuff like that.
Most parents are like that, and if you are a first born child, they are just learning the ropes of parenting. They don't know the best methods yet.
But just remember, they love you and that's why they are doing all of this.
I bet a million bucks you will not only say these things, but understand these things when you have children =)
my mom is JUST like that. omg its so annoying. but its because she's worried alot about me and wants to prevent anything bad from happening. your parents are just looking after you
