Encourage staff to come to work clean and tidy instead of chipped nail polish, bed hair, old makeup and grubby clothing and grotesque piercings on view.
Stop checkout staff asking if I want cash back/top ups/help with packing/carrier bags etc etc
Stop staff asking if I have a loyalty card
Stop all staff from having personal conversations over my head - I just want to get my shopping, pay and leave not hear about the latest hen night or so and so's wedding or how the kids are doing etc
Teach staff to attend to customers rather than wipe counter or straighten things on the counter at customer services/tobacco counter
Stop staff calling customers 'luv'
Stop staff drinking from bottles at checkouts
As far as actual stores go they should stop moving everything around all the time. Convenience/pleasant shopping experience and spending ages searching for items are definitely mutually exclusive.
Put smokers bins further away from the main entrance as it is bloody annoying having to squeeze past a load of smokers (usually staff) just to get into the store.
Provide bigger bins to take unneccessary packaging so I don't have to hump it all home.
I would say try employing people somewhere above the brain dead level but that may be thought offensive so I shan't.
PS teach staff on the deli and meat/fish counters that though it is wonderful that they religiously wash their hands between serving on each counter it sort of wastes the effort when they then dry them on their grubby apron!!!
I do not need to be thanked for waiting. I wait for my benefit not Tescos. Thanking me for waiting is as pointless, annoying and insincere as being told to "have a nice day"
I do not need to be asked if I want bags, help with packing or anything else. If I did I would say so.
