The problem is the cigarettes of course.
If his 'parents' have been smoking in the car (they don't have to smoke when he is in the car too) and pick him up from sport them that is the time it would really affect him.
Smoke lingers on clothing, upholstery and in the air for a long time.
The asthma is not helped by the smoky atmosphere he lives in. Maybe you guys could smoke less or give them up altogether. Its not easy as you may know but it can be done. I had a lot of similar problems when I was a kid and years later I was diagnosed with Coeliac condition, which is an allergy to gluten or wheat. The simple solution is not to eat gluten in my case. This is just one possibility and maybe very unlikely. We are all allergic to smoke, when you are not feeling well due to asthma, then these things bother you more. I really don't think you need to worry about him as he plays football and is active and healthy.
1. Get better control of his asthma by using a long-lasting drug.
2. Get his parents to not smoke in his presence, especially in the car.
3. Test for pet allergy. Ask family members to vacuum the house frequently. Keep pets out of his bedroom.
His parent's smoking is the likely trigger of his asthma.
Frequent colds - what is his nutritional status? A thorough nutritional assessment would be appropriate. A poor nutritional status would also increase his susceptibility to asthma flareups.
Lastly, vitamin D deficiency is very common in the winter. Vitamin D plays many vital roles in the immune system. Deficiency can contribute to both asthma and colds.
Best wishes and good luck.
Allergies. Smoking is awful for everyone, especially people with Astma.
i think hes normal and the physical should say if anything is wrong but take a blood test
isn't this a question he should be asking his doctor
