Please, i would not like to be judged. I've been on the depo provera shot for two weeks now (my first dose ever was 2 weeks ago). I've been having sex with condoms, but I was wondering if it was an overkill? Me and my parter are 100% STD clean. I understand that the shot is 99.7% effective from pregnancy. Condoms kind of dull the sensation but i'm wondering if condoms are really necessary? I'm still a teenager and a child is the last thing I need right now.

I'm on the depo too my first shot. I've been on it since march and my next one is due the 30th of this month. A week after getting the shot I had unprotected sex. I was worried but nothing happened. Since I've gotten the shot I've never used condoms since I know both me and my boyfriend are std free and haven't gotten pregnant. He finishes off inside me too. You should be ok
I am on depo and have had sex unprotected, and have yet to get pregnant. But i don't think there is such thing as "overkill" unless you want a baby. 99.7% isn't 100% so there is always a risk. If you want to increase pleasure maybe try without a condom every once and awhile but don't make a habit out of it (:
Im pretty sure its a 4 week period to make it work. I think thats what the dr told me. Im on the depo too.
You dont need to use condoms after being on it - but again i think that was after the 4 week period.
