So there's an issue about over hundreds of prisoners left to die in their cells during Hurricane Katrina and this has led to a very interesting question and that is whether criminals deserve help. My friend and I are doing a presentation about ethics and this is our situation. I am here because I would like to collect your ideas on whether or not they should be helped. I hope to see both sides of the argument. Thank you!
Update:If possible, can you also include evidence from the situation (prisoners left to die in their cells during hurricane) to support your arguments?

Of course they deserve help - i don't see how this could possibly be a question. They deserve no more punishment than they were sentenced to and it is a moral imperative to protect them from anything that goes beyond that.
Someone who is in prison e.g. because he couldn't pay a parking ticket most definitely does not deserve to be left to die in there, just as an extreme example.
Just because someone's sent to prison doesn't mean they've been sentenced to death.
