like the regular black kind that everyone has? you would think that they would be made of something that would decompose since they are in a landfill. and they're made of plastic right? if not is there something like a "decomposable" garbage bag like hte plastic kinds?

No. Well yes eventually, but no.
There are biodegradable bags made from a corn-based plastic but in a landfill they don't decompose fast enough to act as biodegradable.
I know people say garbage bags take like 10,000 years to fall apart and decompose, but I call bullshit. My grandparents had things wrapped in black garbage bags for safe keeping in their attic for the last 50-60 years. We started cleaning things out a couple weeks ago and those bags were literally falling apart into little flakes. I am being serious, these were no longer bags, they were piles of little black flakes on the floor. And these were not exposed to weather either, they were stored in the house in boxes. Now Im not saying that's an excuse to not be conscious about the impact garbage bags might have on the environment, but I think it doesn't take as long as people claim for them to decompose if the ones in my grandparents attics were falling apart after 60 years.
Why do you care? Just throw your bag in the trash and let the sanitation engineers worry about it!!
10,000years from now.yes they will fall apart.
No, they do not.
