Tightrope walkin'
barefoot by
those rusted ol' locks,
"Don't try an' be
heroic an' open 'em!"
Pa sternly warned
Childish giggles,
naivety in
the purest,
tickled greyin' skies -
"look! he's weepin' pa,
must 'ave laughed too much!"
humored tears
spattered across
a peachy youth'd
brow,
toothy smiles
all around!
crickets swayin'
on bandy legs
whistled in appreciation
of those
lighthearted days.
Update:I'm not thumbing anyone down - just so people know..
