Some people have seen his requesting of peace and disarming as a "victory towards peace",but let's face it.the wars all over this planet are still occurring. The deaths are still occurring.Hatred of the other man is still rampant.Obama's quest as it seems for peace is the same as any other leader of a civilized nation, but it hasn't slowed one bullet down.In fact it has caused some countries to feel they should esclate their work towards better weapons and mastering other peoples. This Nobel prize is worth the same as the one given to the plo leader AArafatfor his peace work as he was fighting the Isrealis.
While we are looking around and shaking our heads to figure out exactly WHAT accomplishments Obama has made, we fail to look at the things that THE NOBEL PRIZE COMMITTEE considers "accomplishments".
Nobel himself discovered dynamite. He was a very smart guy; but he was also a far-left liberal; just look at who else got a Nobel: Jimmy Carter, Woodrow Wilson, Roosevelt, Al Gore for heavens sake......
The "accomplishments" of Obama for the Nobel Committee, is that Obama wishes to cut America's power and influence in the world, so that it equals everyone else;
Everytime Obama apologizes for America and blames America - every time Obama promises to do something that weakens our national defense - all of these are "accomplishments".
The International community is thrilled to death that here we have this young, zero-experienced American President, who they can play like a violen because all they have to do is STROKE HIS OUT OF CONTROL EGO.
The Nobel folks have given this "peace award" to Obama so that they can pressure him and therefore influence policy in America. How can Obama possibly commit more troops to Afganistan now that he's gotten a peace award?
They want to push Obama to continue his destructive path for America and thats exactly what he will do.
WE ARE IN VERY BIG TROUBLE, FOLKS.
We are being sold out to the lowest bidder and straight down to the gutter.
It is the committee who decides. I agree with them.
The five-member Norwegian Nobel Committee — four of whom spoke to The Associated Press, said awarding Obama the peace prize could be seen as an early vote of confidence intended to build global support for the policies of his young administration.
They lauded the change in global mood wrought by Obama's calls for peace and cooperation, and praised his pledges to reduce the world stock of nuclear arms, ease U.S. conflicts with Muslim nations and strengthen its role in combating climate change.
"Some people say — and I understand it — 'Isn't it premature? Too early?' Well, I'd say then that it could be too late to respond three years from now," Thorbjoern Jagland, chairman of the Norwegian Nobel Committee, told the AP. "It is now that we have the opportunity to respond — all of us."
Jagland said the committee whittled down a record pool of 205 nominations and had "several candidates until the last minute," but it became more obvious that "we couldn't get around these deep changes that are taking place" under Obama.

No, he absolutely does NOT deserve it. He has done nothing worth any award.
I always thought AWARDS on ANYTHING "AFTER" something was accomplished. What's happened to COMMON SENSE?
Not hardly.
No, he has done NOTHING to earn it.
No.
