Definitely the Traxxas Rustler. It is a more durable and better engineered stadium truck. Parts for it are more readily available from local hobby shops as well. The Evader is a neat truck however, the electronics are not quite as rugged as the Traxxas electronics. If you're thinking that you will eventually convert to a brushless motor system, the Traxxas transmission and gearing is already designed to handle the additional power.

Keep in mind, both trucks are hobby-grade and can handle quite a beating so your choice to go with either truck puts you light years ahead of the cheaper brands you might find at toy or electronic stores.

Duratrax Evader Ext2 Parts

a properly set up evader will stomp a rustler with all the goodies at the track. evader is an old losi chassis. evader will out handle the traxxas.

The evader is about 25mph but the rustler is more like 30+ I would rather get the rtr rustler.

i might say keep your money and purchase the VXL Rustler, no longer the XL-5 Rustler. top out of the field, the VXL Rustler is extremely rapid. Set that factor up with a 3s LiPo battery and you'd be surprised on the skill it has.
