I know it doesnt grant diplomas but im confused...it says..
FLVS does not currently grant a diploma.
Instead, credits are transferred back to the student’s local school to count towards their graduation requirement. Home school students fulfill diploma requirements either through portfolios that often include national SAT I and II scores, or they use the services of an "umbrella school" that offers the diploma. Visit the Home School Legal Defense Assocation or our homeschooler informational page to learn more.

If you are no longer enrolled in your local public school, and you are just homeschooled through FLVS, you do not get nor do you need a diploma. The information you pasted makes it very clear that homeschoolers fulfill diploma requirements with their portfolios (which you are required to keep if you are homeschooling in Florida) and their SAT scores. I homeschooled in Florida all through high school and got into the honors program at Florida State University without a diploma or a GED. Universities only want your transcripts and your SAT scores, not your diploma.
FLVS does not offer a diploma option. One possibility that you might want to look into is the virtual school offered by your local public school district. School districts in Florida were required by law to start their own versions of FLVS this past school year. Some of this local versions of FLVS do offer a diploma option. You can look into by searching for your local school district's website and looking through their links, or call a local high school and talk to a guidance counselor about the options. Or your parent can make up a high school diploma for you. This doesn't mean that it isn't a "real diploma". If your parents are officially homeschooling you, they are officially in charge of your home education program and have the right to issue you a diploma. Choose a name for your school and design one on your home computer; you can buy fancy paper at an office supply store to make it look "real." Or you can search online and buy a blank diploma online and your parents can fill it out. (It will be just as "real" as the diplomas given by private schools--many of which aren't accredited.) Good luck.
