Okay so I'm about to start my junior year of high school and I've had braces since eigth grade. I was supposed to have them for aproximently a year to a a year and half at most! Now it's approaching three years. My teeth were completely straight to begin with my only issue was a baby tooth that had to be pulled cAuse it wouldn't fall out. Now my teeth are perfectly fine and have been for over a year now. I've done everything the orthodontist has said but they are still on. He's given my over 20 deadlines of when they'd be taken off. And Its really started to affect me I come home crying from the appointments because they are so upsetting. Can I just tell him to take them off? How much longer will they be on probably?
I've called the office many times but my calls are never returned. Is there any way to speed up the treatment??
Please help I'm very desperate to get them off I have smiled showing my teeth in almost 3 years and I'm very depressed from this :(

Next time you see him. You tell him how youre feeling. Tell him to remove them immediately! He should have taken them off by now. I have mine on right now btw
Hi Katherine,
Well Orthodontic treatment depends up on many factors...
like 1. Age, 2. Skeletal structure, 3. Bone remodeling, many more..
Movement of teeth is very easy...but to make them stay in the moved place is difficult & bone remodeling plays a imp role here..& only person to judge di sis your ortho doc...
You should have patience in these Ortho treatments..Your ortho is postpoing since the conditions are not favourble as if now....
Don't be in hurry for removal of braces...because teeth may go back to there original place...
Now please don't get panic....listen to ur doc....wear retentive appliances..
Your going thro imp phase of ortho treatment now...TC

i have the EXACT same problem. one day while I was waiting for an appointment this girl and her mom came in. they said they needed the braces off because her teeth are fine and she is just tried of having them. The orthodontist, reluctantly, gave the angry mom and her daughter a date to take them off. just tell them you want them off now or you'll go to another orthodontist. they can't just keep you with the braces. go to the office and demand they take them off
I would go to him and tell him to take them off or ask why he wont take them off. If he continues to frusttate you consider switching orthos
Hope this helps and good luck
Dont get 2 hues. I talked about someone with 2 hues and my opinion i concept it appeared kinda junky-yet even if it is happening your teeth rather of mine. i'd follow one colour. with your complexion a mild colour sounds good to me. alongside with a mild blue, a mild purple, or silver! good success!
Just wait when they come youll mouth will be mind blowing
