I absolutely love Silhouette Designer Eye Glass Frames. They are really very minimalist and they come in all kinds of shapes and colors. The best thing is that these frames are so great when it comes to using your peripheral vision. You don't have a piece of plastic frame blocking part of your view. I don't know what price range you are looking at, but you may like some of these.

then you can look to the left and click on Silhouette. There are about six pages of frames, colors and shapes you can get your lenses in. It doesn't matter what color your skin is or how your eyes are shaped.

They make several different shapes and these are very light weight frames. And plastic frames for most eye glasses just look cheap. I think that they are way out of style with the exception being sun shades.

Also, since you're getting two pair, get them in different colors and/or styles. That way you can choose more. Also, have you thought about contacts? I wear glasses 50% of the time and contacts 50% of the time, depending on activity. Maybe talk to your mom about it before going if it's a possibility. They are really great if you play sports or don't want to worry about glasses for a day or two.
