I am now a sophomore in high school and my self confidence is lower than ever. I transferred to a new school this year due to my bad anxiety I had at my old school. I would get really nervous before I went to one of my classes because I was afraid people would think I was awkward.
Everything was going decent at my new school until about a month ago. I was sitting down in one of my classes and happened to be sweating a lot due to my anxiety. Then, people started complaining about a smell that was coming from my general direction. I knew it was me, and as a result I started sweating even more.
The next day at school, I began to sweat intensely in fear that other people thought I smell. So pretty much, my body odor is due to the fact I am afraid that people will judge me.
For the past month, I have tried everything to get rid of my smell. I shower about twice a day and put deodorant on constantly during school, but nothing seems to work. I know that I still smell because people are now sitting farther away from me and they constantly make comments about it in general like shouting "it smells like bad BO in here" I, and everyone else in the room knows it was me.
My friends are aware of my awful odor and I can tell are trying to talk to me about it. I'm pretty sure they thinks its because I don't bathe or something. I know that it is all mental because I never had a problem with this prior to the incident. Also, during this month, I actually stopped sweating in the pit area because I began to believe that I was smelling from sweat coming from my butt. So because of that, I started sweating from my butt more.
I am not willing to see a therapist and need something I can do to end this for good. I just want to be me again and not have to put up with this every day for the next two and a half years. If anyone could help me on how I can stop this I would greatly appreciate it.
