I've been doing photography for over a year and I've progressed quite rapidly. However, models don't like to pay much for photoshoots these days and weddings are far and few between for me at this point. I have heard the real money is in architectural photography. Does anyone know how to get into this? Also what rates are people charging for this service?

Prices for architectural photography is just like any other type. It depends on where you are located and the quality of your portfolio.
The thing to realize is the additional cost to do architectural photography. You will need a decent T/S lens (Tilt & Shift, a/k/a Perspective control ) and a good tripod. For example, a "cheap" Canon T/S lens is $1,400 and goes up to $2,500.

Become an assistant to an architectural photography. You are stepping into a highly technical form of photography. You don't just walk into this type of photography and start making money. If you can shoot as good a picture as what you see in the major magazines, then you are ready to get work.
