I just love it that no matter what kind of question you ask there's always some ******** who will write something negative about Bush. Yes, it's all Bush's fault that gas prices are so high. You idiots always try to have it both ways: first he invaded Iraq just to steal the oil but then when oil prices go through the roof (because Bush didn't steal any oil afterall) it's his fault anyway.
I don't think there is a "real way" to protest the prices other than making it so that a significant chunk of drivers STOP driving. And that is a lot of drivers. You can do your part though by using less (If at all possible, like going on shopping trips when you were already in the area and not leaving home with just that purpose, or combining trips in the same area to the same day so you don't drive that way twice in the same week/month/whatever.)
An easier way is to do what I did and buy a hybrid vehicle. I know that isn't an option for everyone (or really for most, I'm still kicking myself for doing it so quickly) but if demand went down and supply stayed where it is now, gas would be forced to drop cause we'd all be using about half of what we do now (We meaning non hybrid drivers, versus hybrid drivers)
I work at one of the leading gas/deisle stations in the US and have heard many complaints from motorists and truckers alike about how we are all standing back and taking it and not being able to do anything about the situation. Our society has become so apathetic in the idea that BIG BROTHER is in control and we're all screwed so we might as well get over it and move on. Screw that! Play them at their own game. Protesting isn't going to do anything. Instead everyone realize that it's not about the gas it's about the money. They do it because they know they can. So, how do you make them stop? Start a price war. Everyone stop buying your gas from all other gas companies except one, say Speedway or Shell, for intance. When only one company is selling gas, others would have to lower their price to compete. Starting a gas war is the only way
A price ceiling would cause a massive shortage of gas and probably stagflation, just like the 1970's. If you don't want to buy gas for $3/gallon, then don't.
Use as little gas as possible. Its not that hard to adjust, I did. Everyone needs to do their part to protest the gas prices. If we just accept it we will continue to be used and laughed at by the people in power.
I just saw on the news a story about a man who writes weekly letters to the White House about how gasoline prices keep rising, yet peoples' pay is not.
I would say just write letters. That is all you can really do. Unless you get the car converter that converts the vegetable oil into gasoline.
The simplest way to cut down on gas prices is for automobile manufactures to get together and raise the prices of their cars, for example raise the price of a Volkswagen to $240,000 and all others in proportion. This would bring gas prices down significantly.
For one, Alaska hasn't been exporting oil for a whilst. At this factor that's extra worthwhile to sell to the US. Secondly, we've hit the strategic Petroleum Reserve so many times interior the recent previous that that's badly depleted. we easily might desire to fill up it, meaning the federal government would be competing with clientele for gas. finally, combating the subsidies will bring about a an instantaneous fee enhance to the clientele. It would not worry me interior the least, despite the fact that it is going to harm many people in this united states of america. what's mandatory is particularly elementary: initiate springing up decision aspects of gas, enhance performance, and enhance refining capacity. on the 2nd that's extra worthwhile for oil companies to shrink refining and reason the charges to enhance. regrettably, this works nicely with the many times used public of the country no longer desiring new refineries.

More than 600 truckers gathered in their big rigs Wednesday to protest the rising gas prices in South Florida, NBC 6's Hank Tester reported.
tHAT IS FROM NBC6.NET...
so IM thinking in order to prtest just grab a bunch of friends that have the same feeling and jus go somewhere where many people go and protest

There is no price ceiling on gasoline, there has never been a need for one.
How to protest it? Stop using it. It's not going to make much of a difference at all, but go right ahead.
Protest Bush.
