I suffer from depression and anxiety and panic disorder. I take meds and I have been going to my doctor for 2 years for this. We have switched my meds and doses a few times. I still suffer from these disorders. The meds help a little but not much. As a teenager maybe like 16 is when all this started. I went to three different psychiatrists and tried three or four medications. The meds didnt help then either. So will social security start my claim from the age of 16 when it started or just when i applied 4 days ago. From my understanding they have to go by when your disorders started. For me it was 16. I am almost 27 now. So is my parents entitled to any money since they paid for my psychiatrists visits and stuff? I was a minor then so i am not sure if my parents will receive money or not. Also i had back surgery in 2005 and my back kills me all the time. But i do not have any medical proof that i cant work b/c of my back. Just the medical chart for the surgery.

You do need to get proof that your back doesn't allow you to work.. for that you definitely could claim disability money if the doctor says you can't work. I am not sure if depression and anxiety and panic disorder are enough to let you have disability against that.. they will advise you to seek psychiatric help or try out different medications.. most people aren't allowed to claim benefits because they suffer from those nr one mental health problems.. that's horrible but so many people suffer from depression and anxiety.. they still have to go to work.. unless you are absolutely in a phobia when you leave the house... then a psychiatrist has to declare you unfit to be able to work I guess and you need that in writing in order to be able to claim benefits.. so to speak that you are housebound due to your anxiety and depression.. if this never allows you to leave the house at all then you have a right to claim disability.. if your problem with these disorders keeps you from going outside ever.. and you get big problems if you even set one foot outside your door.. then you are definitely not able to ever work.. you need that in writing from a psychiatrist that you are housebound.. then you do get benefits.. if you can't go shopping if others have to do that for you... then it's really ruining your life and you only can stay in your house or apartment. Don't give up on finding out other ways for a cure.. also go to another doctor.. let them try all different methods there are maybe you need more than one medication to feel better as you suffer from anxiety disorder and depression and phobia. You need a doctor to declare you unable to work and then you need a lawyer and then you will be able to claim benefits from back when the disorder started I am sure.. they must have your medical dossier. the psychiatrists you consulted when you were 16 you have to provide your lawyer with copies of those... then he can win your case to claim disability from that far back if your dossier says that your disorder is severe with little hope for a cure..

Honestly sounds like a question for a lawyer. yes we may be able to give advice and whatnot but to be 100% sure on everything I'd consult a lawyer. After all on something as serious as this it sounds necessary.
