Ok I have recently joined the army. All they had available in aviation was 15e so I took it. I have read all about the job and have a pretty good understanding of what one does as a UAV. My father is a retired master sergeant in the special and he said they have worked with some of the units but he isn’t really sure of the details of that mos. So I’m wondering now about climbing rank as a UAV. I know it will still be slow compared to infantry or something like that, but does anyone know what the average rate to climb rank as a UAV in the army is? And also I would love to be stationed in another country. I know I probably won’t get it, but does anyone know what the most common areas to be stationed are? either inside or outside the US?

I have seen numerous claims on here that you make rank automatically in the Army. So, one MOS should be as good as the other.
If it is possible, find out the numbers of people in each MOS. Somewhere, those numbers are available. If it's like the Navy, an MOS which has a large number of people will offer better promotion opportunities than an MOS which has a small number of people. For instance, the Navy has a ton of Quartermasters. Promotion in that rating is fairly rapid. We have very, very few Photographers' Mates. Promotion there, especially past E-6, pretty much depends on someone dying or retiring. Good luck.
No mos, promotes as fast as infantry, simply because infantry is the largest mos.
So your looking at 18 to 24 months to make E-4, just like all MOS's in the Army.
Then most likely 4.5 years to make E-5
