My husband and I and are two young children are looking to escape the predicted depression in the US and looking to move to Austraila. My husband is a Class-A cfl flatbed truck driver and I'm a stay at home mother for three years looking for any type of respectable work. We are looking for apartment or condo. We are inbetween country and city people looking for a comfortable and fun place for both children and adults. We do like to go out to clubs also. I am greatul for any and all responces.
Update:I am adding to a previous question. I am looking to open a daycare or go to school and open a business for massage therapy treatmeant and and spa like qualities which is the better career in Austrailia. I have a passion for both.

Australian immigration is restricted to people in occupations in which workers are in short supply in Australia. Unfortunately for your chances, truck driver was recently specifically excluded from the lists of required occupations.

In case either of you is qualified for any other required occupation, here are the lists:

After all the legalities which have already been mentioned, I would suggest you look into Wollongong NSW, its the second biggest city after Sydney, more of a regional city and the southern suburbs sound like they would suit you well. Your husband could get work with any of the many many contractors for the local steel works. We have some decent clubs and Sydney is not far for a big night out.
I would suggest daycare centre, I work at one and the amount of people that ring up everyday is astounding, we have over 150 people on our waiting list and our current familes want more days as well, we can't keep up. Demand wise I think childcare centre, but do what you enjoy.
I don't know how much research you have done on australia but if these are the reasons(as stated) for immigrating then you need to be aware that australia tends to follow the trends of america. Although the financial impact of depression may not be as great as in america, we are however heading into our own recession. Our stock market has plunged appallingly, we are in drought which drives the cost of food up to almost double and unemployment is about rise dramatically. Existing homeowners are finding it very difficult meeting mortgage repayments and therefore would think twice about having massage therapy and one of australia largest chain of day care has recently gone into receivership. Home ownership is almost out of reach for the common folk and rentals average between $300.00 - $500.00 per week for a reasonable abode. If you understand completely what such a huge move to your family means and still wish to pursue it then I suggest you log on to the australian government website and investigate the requirements for immigration are. There was talk about the laws of immigration being tightened but I'm sure this site may give you some idea. The other option would be to contact the australian embassy in america for information. Good luck.
Well if the us economy crashes ours will too
