I'm a self diagnosed hypochondriac so I may not technically have it but I've been having a lot of panic around my wisdom teeth extraction. I want more than anything for a dentist to look at it and tell me it's ok so I can relax but my surgeon doesn't do follow ups unless you have a problem and I technically don't have anything noticibly wrong with my teeth. Could I call my normal dentist and try and get him to look at it? Should I try and take photos and post it online? Any ideas on how to help myself with this problem?

Of course you can have your regular dentist take a look. Why would you think this wouldn't be OK?
But really, if you are this stressed out over an extraction that isn't causing you pain or other problems, I think you need to see a therapist. Your reaction isn't normal, and yes, it suggests that you've got an issue with hypochondria. It can get worse, and God forbid you should have surgery and behave this way.
What is your problem.?
Within a week the white clot will have formed, sockets heal from the bottom up.
It can take a couple of weeks for the hole to slowly close over.
If you have no bleeding and are not in pain then it is healing normally.
I worked for a UK Dentist.
