I'm not a socialist--I believe capitalism and free enterprise is the only system that works--However, long before our current economic crisis I asked this question: How can a country survive when the bulk of it's economy is based on consumption? 60-70% of our economy is based on people buying stuff---isn't that in itself a recipe for disaster? Doesn't that make our economy doomed to fail if we don't change?

Maybe. As long as the public continues to be duped into supporting the failed policies of Republicans, we'll eventually fail.
Well capitalism is a great economic system and a LOUSY governing system, and you are experiencing what happens when this concept gets confused.
But yes, you are correct---in basic uncontrolled form, capitalism is pathological, like a cancer. Once too much power is in too few hands, disaster is almost inevitable.
At the present time, 1% of the population owns 90% of the stocks in Wall St.
the country isn't "failing"---it's being usurped.
It will fail if the democrats get their way and succeed with their Cloward Piven plan. If they do, this nation will be on it's knees, bankrupt. the libs will take over and offer a new document to replace the Constitution. They will attempt a socialist utopia, just what you want. But it will fail, just like all socialism does. Socialism is not good, sorry to hear you are on that boat.

Well America is picking up speed as it goes down hill, only the people can turn it around, but they will have to wake up to the 'real' cause, which is the 'Private' banks so it is imperative they go to greenbacks if they are to survive.
I would say they must ditch the $, and legal law.
