Under any circumstance. For instance, if a man broke into my house tonight and tried to kill me and if I shot him, would I be in trouble? These days, it seems like self defense is a crime, just look at George Zimmerman.
Update:A lot of you are saying Trayvon didn't attack Zimmerman. He did, and Zimmerman shot him. If someone was beating my face in, at night, nobody is around, I'm alone, I'd shoot them too.

Zimmerman is ONLY going through this because low class Blacks made this a race issue. The Media intentionally show pics of Martin when he was much younger, and all the pics of Zimmerman are his mugshots.
If these were the images that were being used, would people feel the same way?

Ok, am I the only one who finds this slightly disturbing? Every person who has supposedly "slighted you" has made a reference to you commiting some kind of a crime? Do you have a bad temper? Self Defense is a ruling that in most cases is made by judge and jury. If someone is about to be stabbed and manages to shoot the perp, then of course it will be investigated and if it's beyond a reasonable doubt self defense then it's not a crime. However that person has to live with committing a crime, self defense or not.
In that case that would have been self defense. The Zimmerman case is not self defense, he followed and shot a young black man in cold blood carying skittles and a drink. The kid was coming back from the store he was un armed but Ofcourse zimmerman felt "threaten" because he was a young black male. What if that was a young white male? What if it was the other way around and the black kid shot Zimmerman and defended him self? Then the black kid would have been labled as a thug thrown in prison immediately it wouldn't even have been a case.
No, you can harm him because he broke in your house. This was different because the kid was walking home in the rain in the dark. The watchman thought he might be part of the recent group that had robbed the area,
Zimmerman was not in harm's way until he approached the kid who probably was just as scared not knowing who he was. Only Zimmerman had a gun. All he had to do was wait for the police. That is all he had to do and it would have all been sorted out.
No it is an excuse or a justification for actions that would be crime to avoid being punished. Zimmerman killed someone and that would be a crime if he did not have to in order to avoid being killed or suffering great harm. If he had stayed in his car and waited for the police he would not have had to kill to protect himself, however if you are in your home, you have no place safe to go, so it is not the same. Also it is reasonable to assume someone who breaks into you home is a criminal, but not that someone walking down the street is,
Edit: Only GZ says Trevon attacked him, there are no wittiness nor evidence that shows that he did, some people believe him some do not,
Self-defense is only a crime in the eyes of those who support criminals and the rights of criminals over the rights and well-being of the law-abiding... usually the same ones who believe in disarming the lawful while not enforcing laws against criminals.
If someone tries to kill you, you have the right to defend yourself. You will most likely have to go to court to prove it was self defense though.
It's only a crime if you shoot a black man. There will be many protests of racism if you do.
Apparently, the DOJ believes we should just lay down and take it if its a black man.
WHAT? No, of course not. He is breaking into your house, you have full and one hundred percent rights to defend yourself and others in this situation. God forbid this happening to anyone.
I own a gun retard. You don't chase people that have not committed a crime and then hail self-defense if they react to you. Owning a gun doesn't mean you try to create a situation where the only option is to fire it. What house did Trayvon break into? He had no criminal record dolt.
