kids/ages/car?
I have a jeep grand cherokee laredo and my 2 yr old who sits behind me constantly kicks my seat. on the other side, my 2 month old's infant carrier barely fits through the door and takes up so much space that there isn't enough room for the front passenger's legs. I cant move the baby behind the drivers seat because then there wont be enough room for MY legs. I've been looking at minivans, but the unless it has back bucket seats my 2 year old will be poking the baby in her eyes. and the farthest back seat seems too unaccessable. What kind of car do you drive, and how old are your kids?

I have a mercury mariner (just like the ford escape) I drive my one year old daughter and 11 month old friends baby that I watch and I use two of the convertible car seats. There is more than enough room. When she has my daughter she has the Saturn vue which is also a mid size SUV an there is plenty of room in there too.
I have a Mercury Villager van. My oldest 13, sit in the bucket seat behind the passenger. My 2 year old sits in the bucket seat behind the driver and then my other boys are in the very back which is a bench seat. This works pretty well but in hindsight I wish that I had paid for the sliding door on both sides so they would be easier to bucke into thier seats. It would have been worth the extra money!
I have an '05 Chevy Venture. The 5 and 7-year olds are in the back. The 3-year old and the 5-month old are next to each other in the middle row, which is also a kind of a bench seat that is supposed to seat 2. It is wide enough that, with the help of the 3-year old's car seat straps, the 3-year old can't reach over to the baby's face.
I drive a Mazda Protege5, great car! Not so roomy, but my 8mth old fits just fine. I only have one kid and dont have any problems with poking of eyes and what not. I agree, I think in most cars the backseat isnt very baby seat friendly as far as room goes, I have to move the passengers seat up too and there's barely enough room for someone to sit up there. All i can recommend is when you're going car shopping, is take the baby seat with you and fit inside the car's your looking at.
However, my bf has a Nissan Altima, those cars are VERY roomy and it leaves plenty of room for the passenger up front. And they are a very good price.

we've had it that way since the youngest was born.

I have a ford taurus, and my kids do fine, but they are further apart. 5,4 and 10months
