My fiance was purchasing a car through a bank loan co-signed by another family member. This family member had jacked the keys and refused to give the car back, he also has posession of the title and has had the keys, car, and title for almost a year now with no intent on giving it back. He paid about $600 of the bank loan and tells my fiance that he will sell the car back to him for $1500 but the catch is that he will not let him look over the car before the purchase, let alone let him see the title. We have no idea whose name is primarily on the title, but we believe that it is my fiances. Do we have any legal rights to get the car back? Or even a way to see a copy of the existing title without obtaining it from the relative? Someone gave advice that we may have some claim through the bank loan, because my fiance is listed as the borrower with his relative as the co-signer. Anything can help at this point in time.

Simply put, you need an attorney. Quit messing around and go hire one.
