Most do not as they think there is some sort of "pagan" religious thing going on when it is primarily in the west a "secular" tradition. If it was once based upon paganism (astrology etc.) it has lost its meaning LONG ago. But then most Muslims haven't advanced beyond the Middle Ages in thinking so whatever.
