Ok this is driving me insane! I read a book series years ago around 2004 and I can't remember the name of the books. The book starts off talking about a man referred toas "a Son of Whores Piss". His mom apparently *noble woman* had sexually relations with a winged man. Soon a woman is introduced and they fall in love. He ends up with the winged people. The woman if i'm not mistaken can cross over into a world where you have to be completely naked. The world contains people that become animals. But anyways, the guy falls in love with another woman that turns out to at one point had wings too. I can't for the life of me remember the name of the books or anything! But I know it was a seirous and I stopped reading after the second book which ended in the girl finding out her love had fallen in love with another woman....
