Verified answer

Hi Wendy! Even though your answer is a very educated and accurate response for the question here's what I think is probably happening. It's very possible that someone didn't like an answer you left on another question. You being a Vet typically means you are going to have some really spot-on answers. It's possibly a jealousy issue. I'm willing to bet this has something to do with a troll. I've seen multiple names that are obviously owned by the same person. That one person could've given you all the the thumbs down. If your q&a's are not hidden on your profile page, I'd recommend you do that. Someone would be able to follow every answer you are giving and give them all thumbs down. Just have fun here. Answer the questions to the best of your ability and don't worry about what people say or think. I know my first day on here (just a few days ago) I added you to my contacts because I saw an answer you had left that was perfect. Keep your chin up and don't allow this issue to cause you to leave YA. The community will only get better with people on here that really know what they are talking about. If only one out of twenty people that you give advice to listen to what you say... you are making a difference. Sorry this happened to you.

i found this to. i could be the 1st to answer a question, get it bang on, even at times put a link in, and some Twonker comes along and puts a thumbs down. then another answerer, will perhaps change the wording a little and get thumbs up.

Its called cheating in my eyes. if they cant be bothered to answer a question in a honest way, they just not worth it.

Maybe they feel so insecure about themselves, they feel they have to cheat.!! Ho hum aint life Rum.

Hello Wendy and welcome. I'm new at this too- one thing I've noticed is the thumb up and down don't necessarily mean your answer is right or wrong. It could mean the people don't agree, want to offer another answer, or they don't care for the words being used. Who knows, but please don't take it personally. We love having an honest educated answer being offered. Keep the faith!

IDK!!! I feel the same way as you do! I've gotten 6 thumbs down on one question and the question was "What food do you feed your dog?" my answer was Eukanuba. Everyone feed their dogs something different. I don't know why I got 6 thumbs down. It was like an opinion question. I think people just do it for fun and don't realize what they are doing. Idiots!

I think people get their friends to help them out and i think people have multiple accounts and give themselves all the thumbs up and hand out thumbs down to everyone else.
