I want to register a trademark to sell US portion cut steaks in foreign countries. I wonder if you native Americans would think it is weird if I choose to have a brand name or trademark such as “ Obama Farm” or “ Whitehouse Farm” or something like that? I think it is more attractive to consumers. By the way, can I register similar trademark in the US?
Update:Obama is just a surname used by a lot of people, so How I can get permission from all Obamas? I know in my country it is ok to register a "Obama Farm" trade mark, since I will have to do business with US meat packers, I wonder if I use this kind of name in my products, whether US people would think it is strange or weird.

AS if you think US beef is going to sell in other countries. Or anything to do with the US. Everyone knows here, that you do not purchase American meat, as it is loaded with hormones and chemicals. Any sort of reference to the US, will make people not even want to read the label, to find out if it was actually manufactured/farmed there.
Seriously, what makes you think people in countries other than the US, would be interested in purchasing meat that has a brand referencing the US?
Go for it.....you will quickly loose your investment.
Under US trademark laws, you cannot register a trademark using someone else's name unless you have their permission. You cannot register a trademark that is "misdescriptive", such as suggesting a farm owned or operated by Obama or the Whitehouse. The rules in other countries are obviously going to be different.
