This fragment is terribly vague. What is making noise? The compressor? The supply fan? Are you getting any cold air flow? Is the noise occurring only when AC is turned "on", "off", or both?
Typical vehicle AC problems include: 1. Low refrigerant charge (which is a DIY fix). 2. Serpentine belt not moving from idler bearing to compressor (typically requires mechanic). 3.Compressor bearing failure (which is usually pretty loud, noticeable only when AC is turned "on")
What is making noise? i had a problem with my AC a couple weeks ago, when i had it turned on, the belt squeaked because it was too loose, so i cranked the bolt up where the alternator is and tightened it.
