Under Eisenhower the richest Americans had to pay 91% of their income in taxes.
"Currently, the top marginal tax rate is 38.6 percent, scheduled to drop to 35 percent by 2006. The dramatic capacity of elites to take care of themselves is etched in the changes they have secured over the past half-century. The top marginal rate was 91. percent to and through the Eisenhower years, indeed continuing up to 1964"

I would assume that the post WW II debt was huge. I would also imagine that returning vets needed much help. If not physical, then with restarting their lives. Factories had to be retooled.

Yes he was. He also increased the governments intervention in Medicine, a trend that every president after him has continued. So much for that "change" Obama. Now do you realize that America has been going down a Socialist path for almost 100 years now and that Obama is just continuing that trend? That is why the rich stay rich and powerful and the poor stay poor.
Socialism is government ownership of means of production. Is there any evidence that Eisenhower was in favor of that?
No. That's just how bad of whiners modern conservatives have become.
The facts don't matter because Obama is a MUSLIM!
