I have never seen someone with the stature of Barack Obama be so disrespected for doing nothing wrong. Will republicans change their tone and come together when he wins or will they continue to assassinate his character?

he will be the honorable president Obama as far as im concerened.
i would rather say president mccain though. and i feel very stronlgy about that. but when tomorrow is over, the president will be my boss as of jan. and therefore i will respect him.
He'll have to earn it, and that's going to take some work. I respect the office of the President, but the man must prove himself worthy.
I think we probably differ in our opinion of what it means to "do nothing wrong". I find Obama to have a lack of integrity about some very basic values, and that's troubling.
Obviously, I don't know either one personally, but I get a much better feeling from McCain about living a life above reproach. He's not perfect and has certainly made some bad judgements (his first wife), but he admits his mistakes.
1. He isn't president yet, and there are lots of us against him ever getting there.
2. No. He is a liar, a socialist, and not even a real American.
3. One must have character to have it assassinated. He is nothing more than an empty suit on his best day.
You sound like someone who is in the younger generation and does not realize that respect must be earned (I thought that was common sense).
Dems are the ultimate character assassins and never met a lie they did not like if it furthered their cause.
If Obama is elected, he will have to earn the respect of this country's citizens, like anyone else.
Yes, they will respect him right after the election is over.
They don't even respect their own party for crying out loud.
The new leadership will bring everyone together even this country.
Just as much as they would respect any president that is a Democrat or a rapist respects woman.
how about being a Muslim then changing to Christianity. the Muslims frown upon this action and usually are promised the gift of Allah if they kill such a person
If he proves himself and follows through with all of his promises without raising my taxes by a ridiculous amount, then yes.
if he is elected and he does a good job, then he would earn my respect
simply winning the election is not something i can respect
after what bush put us through for 8 years...umm they better
