I have the same problem. The good news is your medication will kill it off...the bad news is...it kills off the good yeast too. Then it spins out of control. I will tell you what I do to keep it under control. It is NOT recommended by doctors. BUT after doctoring for a year and a half with no success I decided anything is better than nothing.
I got a reusable douche at Wal-Mart. I put 3 tablespoons of baking soda in it and fill it with warm water. I do it once a day for a week while symptoms last. Then I also use olive leaf extract (in the vitamin section at Wal-Mart). You will have a die off effect with in the first 2 days of using it. The effect is basically ridding you of yeast and toxins. You will become friends with your toilet at this point. So do it on a weekend off. The effect should only last a day or two. I still take 2 a day even when I feel well. It is a magic pill. Research it and see what else it is good for...you'll be surprised.
If it came back after the medication, you need to go back to the doctor to find out why it's happening again. Otherwise, you could get a pelvic infection if you let it go too long. Stop wearing thong underwear and always wipe front to back. Fecal material can cause a bacterial infection.
Hello,
I'm not postpartum but I am in the same boat with you on the bv I've had it on and off too for about 2 years. The longest I've been without bv was about 4 months. The last bout I've had since August and I'm still trying to get rid of it! I have to take this medication now for the next 6 months! BV is the biggest pain I've ever had to deal with.
I hope it gets better for you.

some women are just very prone to infections. My mother has UTIs so much she has standing orders with the pharmacy. Don't get flustered just speak with your doctor about this
i went through the same thing after i had my son and come to find out it was from the soap i use. it is very common. i changed my soap and haven't had one in 2 years
This is a good question for your doctor, and not a group of unlicensed, (pardon the pun,) "Yahoo's"
please refrain this disgusting info and vote obama, thank you dear
