I am doing this big project for my senior year of high-school, and would like to involve my community.

There is a local faire and I am going to set up an education booth about St. Judes. That means, I would have to contact St. Judes, but beforehand, I would like to have some assistance in outlining a clear idea of what I want to do exactly.

It would include:

a) information on how to decrease the likelihood of cancer.

b) have a few stories (with permission, of course) about a few of the cancer patients St. Judes has had.

c) over-view of history, what they do, how they approach it, various therapies

d) local, county-wide efforts against cancer.

There will be donation cards, with pre-addressed envelopes out for people to take home, or a change box

But, since it involves children, it would only make sense to make it somewhat fun. A.."Hula-hoop for Hope" type of thing. Children can pay 50 cents to hula-hoop and win prizes. Or, I could have pledges, and have them pledge per-minute of hula-hooping.

I could also talk to the Game-Stop company about providing coupons, or discounts to winners, it would not only look extremely good for the stores, but there is evidence that some video games actually can help cancer patients.

A PC game by HopeLab was given to children. The game has 20 levels and features a little robot that goes throughout the human body destroying the infected cells, and gives them a feel of actually battling cancer. Those who played had higher-blood levels of chemotherapy, and showed increased utilization of antibodies. Y'know, jus' sayin'.

I would really appreciate any suggestions on companies I can go to, charities that would be better to link up to, ideas, thoughts, criticism, comments, anything, and I will give due credit when presenting.
