Hello Dave,
Nope. They don't travel like you are expecting to do.
For that you need to join the Navy and you will be at sea for 1/2 of your 4 years.
After basic training - which might take you at least 8 - 12 months to get to basic training after you start the paperwork - you will go to a technical school.
AF calls "X-ray" technicians: "Diagnostic Imaging" technicians. School is 3 months long at Sheppard AFB, Wichita Falls, Texas.
THEN, you go to a base that has an AF hospital or AF clinic.
You remain there until you reenlist or don't reenlist and go home as a civilian again.
Once you reenlist you still stay at that base until your assignment for overseas comes due to have you replace someone coming back from overseas.
OR: you could "volunteer" for overseas and go before your normal turn. Volunteer for England, Germany, Italy, Azores, Turkey, Okinawa, Korea, Japan, Guam, Hawaii, Alaska. That's it.
But remember, medical jobs are in the General category. You enlist into the General category and could become a cop. Or one of 2 dental jobs. Or there are 18 medical jobs. You might not get X-ray.
Here are all the schools and length.

You will not travel.
You will be assigned to a hospital on an Air orce base and thats where you will stay.
Your medical unit may deploy for 3 to 6 months, every 2 years or so.
But othewr than deployments to a combat zone, there is no travel.
They do not travel at all.
