In a satirical article that appeared today at Front Page Magazine, Daniel Greenfield noted how Chris Matthews seems to make racism and opposition to the current government in Washington seem as though they are actually identical:

If I understand Mr. Matthews' demented "logic" correctly, it seems as if it goes something like this: President Obama is the one who manages the federal government. President Obama is black. Therefore, those who are against the policies of the federal government are anti-Obama - and thus anti-black by implication.
If this is the best MSNBC can do, I am fully content to let it continue running, because the only people it will appeal to are the most rabid partisans on behalf of the administration - an audience that is decidedly limited in scope.

Tingles Mathews likely doesn't believe his own bullchit. But he goes for the low hanging fruit.. and his not so bright audience eats it up. It keeps him on the air and that's all that matters. So what if he poisons the well for the rest of US.

This has been going on since Obama began running for President.
Back in the day it was said that "patriotism is the last refuge of a scoundrel".
Nowadays it's the charge of racism, which, like the charge of rape, is "easily made and difficult to disprove".
The lying bastards of the Left sling words like racism because it doesn't cost them anything and keeps the opposition cowed and trying to defend itself.
Why We The People don;t laugh them to derision baffles me, since the Leftists charge of racism doesn't hold water.
The author is overestimating the impact that Chris Mathews, MSNBC, and TV News Channels in general have on the public. Nobody with half a brain takes anything that clown says seriously. I think Cruz is tool, but I don't think anything he did or said during the shutdown demonstrated that he is a racist.
I do not listen to Chris Matthews. He is a narrow minded bigot and I have programmed MSNBC out of my TV. I can get what I want from CNN and Fox News and other sources without listening to someone so biased he can't be believed to tell the truth.
